We have some some exciting news: Kayla Baretta is Paper Leaf’s next Managing Director!
Back in January, I announced that 2023 was going to be my last year at Paper Leaf, and we’d be opening up a competition to fill my position.
Over the last few months, we underwent a thorough, multi-phase, open competition for the role, fielding numerous qualified applicants from across Western Canada. At the end of the process, Kayla – formerly our VP Operations, having been at Paper Leaf for 4.5 years and possesses nearly a decade of experience in our industry overall – stood alone as the best candidate for the position. We’re excited to have her stepping in. Her experience both prior to Paper Leaf and while at Paper Leaf has her well-suited to the role.
Kayla is assuming the title of Managing Director (Incoming), while Jeff changes to Managing Director (Outgoing). As of the new fiscal year (July 1), Kayla will be acting Managing Director – Jeff will be aiding in her transition to that role, and the shop’s overall transition, over the rest of this calendar year.
Generally speaking, the mission, trajectory, shape, and work of Paper Leaf remains exactly the same. We’re all excited for the next chapter of Paper Leaf under Kayla – she’s the right person to take the shop to the next level.
